Workers’ Compensation Money and Benefits

Helping You Obtain the Compensation You Need for Work-Related Injuries

If you have suffered injuries from an on-the-job accident, it is important to understand how to obtain workers’ compensation money and benefits.

Accident Insurance Claims and Other Sources of Compensation

There are a number of different benefits available if you have been injured at work.

Temporary total disability: If you are unable to work at all, you are entitled to weekly benefits.

Temporary partial disability: If you are unable to work full duty and have limitations, but are not totally disabled, you most likely are entitled to weekly benefits. It is usually required that people seeking these benefits prove that they have been looking for work within their restrictions, but we have been successful in getting this requirement waived for clients who are preparing for major surgery, enrolled in training or are experiencing other difficulties in seeking work.

Permanent partial disability: Once you reach a plateau in your healing process and are not expected to recover any further, the doctor will assess a disability rating if you have not recovered one hundred percent. There is a corresponding monetary award for permanent partial disability. We know how to calculate and recover such awards.

Lost earning capacity: If you have exhausted all of your other benefit options and you are still not employed, we can petition on your behalf for additional lost earning capacity benefits.

Lump-sum settlements: In many cases, it is possible to take a smaller percentage of the total future benefits expected in order to receive benefits in one lump-sum settlement payment.
